He was born on June 2, 1939 in Toledo, OH to the late William and Anna Burtis. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, Donna Burtis; and brother, Don Burtis.
He is survived by his children, Seth Burtis, Rebekah Burtis, Rachael Burtis, Vanessa Chiappo (Nick) Olinger, Glenn Burtis, Gregory Burtis, Geoffry Burtis, and Sarai Burtis; brother, Harold Burtis; sister, Gloria Burtis; grandchildren, Jaylen, Ethan, Kendylle, Ayden, Kaiya-Noel; and friends, Ashley Prieto, Sharon (Mike) Noel, Jesse Cooper, Button, Yolanda Mosquera, Pastor Jim Thomas, Rick Falice; Harvey Finkle; and dearest friend of all, Dave Pemberton; as well as all the friends who could not be named.
Gerry was the best Optician in Orlando for the last 30 years. He touched countless people by his generosity and his selflessness. He was the best brother or best friend you could ever hope for.
Visitation is Tuesday May 17, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (East Orlando Chapel).
Funeral service is Wednesday May 18, 2016 starting at 1pm at the Orlando Bible Church, Orlando, FL.
Pastor Jim Thomas is officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
