On Friday, May 20, 2016, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, God-mother, mother-in-law, aunt, friend, and loved one, Mary Burnette Swann, entered into eternal rest and peace in the Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, Florida.
A native of Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Conway Newman, Sr. and Mary Helen Newman. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Conway Newman, Jr. sisters Hester Juanita Newman and Ann Pearline Evans.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Paul William Newman, Sr.; one daughter-in-law, Cherrell A. Newman of Lanham, MD; one daughter, Patricia Marie Swann of Fort Washington, MD; one God-daugter Cheryl Rolands of Waldorf, MD; three grandchildren, Kiara J. Swann, Chelpal J. Newman, and Paul W. Newman, Jr.; one great-grandchild, Kimkni Marshall; three sisters; Elizabeth Regina Gray of Machipongo, VA, Glorida Jean Bonilla of Orlando, FL, and Cherry Helen Adams of Oxon Hill, MD; three brothers, Melvin Eugene Newman of Charlotte, NC, James Sherman Newman of Kileen, TX, and Nathen Nevil Newman of Waldorf, MD; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives; and many friends.
A private memorial service will be held at Lee’s Funeral Home on Friday, June 10, 2016, 6:30 PM, at Lee’s Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, MD.
