Richard “Dick” J. Kirby, age 92 died peacefully at home on June 12, 2016 in Orlando, FL of CHF.

He was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He served in the US Army and was able therefore to get his BS degree from the University of IL. He owned the RJ Kirby Co which produced enough income so he could own thoroughbred horses and competitively race sailboats. He was a past president of Special Children’s Charities in Chicago. Susan and he married in June of 1982 and then life became sweeter. With his soulmate, their travels took them far and wide. Since 1988 he and his wife joined Rio Pinar Country Club which brought new, deep and abiding friendships.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; sister, Nan Clark; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 5pm to 7:30pm with funeral service on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 1pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (East Orlando Chapel).

Father John McCormick is officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

A reception will follow the burial committal at Rio Pinar Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice 2201 Lucien Way, Suite 100, Maitland, FL 32751 or St. Viator Parrish in 4170 W. Addison Street, Chicago, IL 60641.
