Darrell E. Barrett, Sr. departed this life and graciously entered into the open arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 13, 2016.
Darrell was one of seven children. He was born on October 17, 1947 in Fayetteville, WV to the late Eugene and Gertrude Rorabaugh-Barrett.
Darrell joined the Army and completed one tour in Vietnam. After his honorable service, he soon met the love of his life, Carol and together they raised four children.
He retired as a maintenance mechanic and moved to Titusville, FL in 2004 coming from Janesville, WI.
Darrell was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Teresa Catholic Church. He also enjoyed attending various classic car clubs, where he was happy to show off his red 1976 Camaro.
He will be remembered as a wonderful and dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Darrell leaves memories to be cherished by his wife of 42 years, Carol; children, Darrell Jr. (Rebecca), Angelica Mitchner (Ronnell), Erin Staiduhar and Shana Thompson; sister, Jane Williams (John); mother-in-law, Glorietta Burns; 8 adoring grandchildren; his pup, Taz and grand pups, James and Cocoa; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 203 Ojibway Avenue, Titusville, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Darrell to: St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org
