Italo Julius "Babe" Rizzi
1929 - 2016
Italo, known to all as Babe, will be remembered as an honorable and courageous man who truly appreciated the precious gift of life.
He leaves memories to his wife, Arna; children, Ines Rizzi, Michael Rizzi, Katherine Gomez, Linda Pittenger, Lee Anna Klele, and Scott Brown; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Babe entered into the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduating high school in Brooklyn (Bay Ridge). He was deployed as fighter pilot, touring campaigns in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He loved his boat, called the “Lucky Babe”, and enjoyed playing golf and working in his workshop.
Inurnment with full military honors will take place at 3:00PM on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL.
The memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Patrick Air Forces Base, Cocoa Beach, Manatee Cove Marina Club House at 5:00PM. You must contact the family prior for instructions to be put on a list at the gate before you can enter the base.
