Luella Christina Mathias, age 90, of Orlando, FL passed away February 19, 2017.

Luella was born on March 23, 1926, to Lars and Christiana Orness in Webster County, Iowa. Luella married Donald Mathias on August 14, 1949, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage.

Luella worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for over 20 years. After raising their children, Luella and Don moved to Florida for their retirement and to be closer to their grandchildren.

Upon her passing, Luella was reunited in Heaven with Don, as well as her parents, sisters Nellie, Viola, Clara, Hilda, and Amanda and her brothers Chet, Ole, and Harold. Luella’s life continued to be celebrated on Earth by her daughters, Rhonda (Phil) and Donna (Jeff), her grandchildren Donald (Jessica), Scott (Ashley), Ashley (Rick), and Lindsey (Steve), great-grand children (Madison, Mackenzie, Mason, and Everett), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is Thursday February 20, 2016 from 9am to 10am with funeral service starting at 10am at the Newcomer Funeral Home (East Orlando Chapel).

Graveside service will follow at 12:30pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
