In Memory Of
Doris T. Newell
1926 - 2017
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dock Newell; parents, Alma and Roland Tootle; and grandson, Barton Burgess.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Burgess; son, Barry C. Newell; brothers, Prentiss Tootle, Harry Tootle, and Larry Tootle; grandsons, Clinton Burgess and Chad Newell; granddaughter, Vanessa Musznski; great-grandchildren, Cline Burgess, Stacie Burgess and Emily Musznski.
Doris was a faithful member of Azalea Park Baptist Church, rejoicing and singing her favorite songs, Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, and Rock of Ages. She held a special place in her heart for her church and her church friends and family.
“Our Mother’s world was her family – she taught us the meaning of that word”. She was an avid gardener and took great pride in her beautiful yard. Her home was always filled with family, friends, good food and much laughter.
She traveled extensively with her husband and they shared a love of the mountains and the west coast.
“She was the best Grandmother in the world” and adored all her grandkids.
Our parents wished to be buried together at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Visitation is Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00AM at Newcomer Funeral Home (East Orlando Chapel), 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, Florida 32822.
