In Memory Of
Betty Lorraine Gordon
1932 - 2017

Betty Lorraine Gordon known to the family as Nanny of Orlando, Fla Passed away April 21, 2017. Nanny was born to Pearl and Kelly Hollan in Orlando, Florida at the corner of what is now Curry Ford and Dean Roads in a little house owned by her Grandfather, Jesse Rouse. Soon after, Pearl divorced and remarried a wonderful father and grandfather, Walter E Dale. She had three step sisters, Evelyn, Ethel, Pauline and stepbrother Walter jr. She spent most of her younger life in the family home on Chickasaw Trail except during WW2 when the area was taken over by the government for a bombing range, and the family transferred up to the Norfork, Va Navy base.

She graduated from Orlando High School and married Bobby F. Gordon Sr of Oviedo, Fla. Bobby went into the service during the Korean war. After the war, Bobby and Nanny continued on in service life doing tours in Texas, Germany, Ethiopia, Thailand, back to the states, then retiring in 1971, back to Orlando to the family home on Chickasaw.

Bobby Sr. passed in early 1990. She remained at the home on Chickasaw until 2002. She then moved to Clermont to live with her youngest son. In 2011, she moved back into Orlando to be with her granddaughter and closer to family as needed due to health concerns, where she lived until her passing.

She will be sorely missed. She was the rock of our family.

She is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Bruce and Bobby Gordon; 5 grandchildren, Leigh, Nic, Crystal, Kristie, and Dillon and their families; one great-granddaughter, Ella Skye Fleming; her sister-in-law, Marian Petruzzi; and so many nieces and cousins and loving family it is too long to list.

The funeral will be at Newcomer Funeral Home on Goldenrod Rd in Orlando on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Visitation will start at 10:30 am, services at 12:30 pm, followed by graveside services at the Drawdy-Rouse family Cemetary on Rouse Rd, north of University.
