Obituary for Joseph D. Marsh

Joseph Marsh, 58, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully after a brief battle with lymphoma on April 21, 2017.

Joe was born on February 20,1959 in Kane, Pennsylvania to Keith (Dewey) Marsh and Joan Smith.

As a child, there was nothing Joe liked more than days spent at Barden Brook with Mom and Pa or with everyone on the farm in Farmers Valley. He graduated from Portville Central School in 1977 and attended Olean Business Institute before moving to Florida. Over the years he lived in Hilton Head. SC and Boston, MA but the road always led him back to Orlando. Joe worked for many years for Walt Disney World Resort, Hilton Vacation Club and until his illness, AAA.

Joe loved to travel and learn about new places. He was obsessed with the weather and was the family weatherman, often calling up north to tell about incoming weather or brag about his warm, sunny Florida weather. He loved all animals, especially his cat, Sister Girl. Most of all Joe cherished time spent with family and friends. He was especially happy if this also involved watching his team, the Buffalo Bills. His gift of gab and quick laughter will be remembered fondly and forever missed by those lucky enough to have known him.

Joe was predeceased by his beloved mother, Joan Brunner and his step father, Philip Brunner, as well as his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Stella Smith of Eldred, PA and his paternal grandparents, Keith and Lou Marsh of Farmers Valley, PA. He is survived by his sister, Janean (Matthew) Threehouse of Allegany, NY, his father and step mother, Dewey and Anne Marsh of Eldred, PA, sister, Amy Marsh of Asheville, NC, brother, Kurt (Tracy) Marsh of Arlington, TN, stepsisters, Teresa (Dana) Shields and Lori (Bud) Moore, both of Eldred, PA and Chris Wilcox of Newman, GA., many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and his devoted friend and caretaker, Daryl Willoughby of Orlando, FL.

At Joe's request, there will be no visitation or service. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
