Karen N. Kmen, 68, of Willowbrook, IL. died on July 16, 2017 in her home in Apopka, FL. with her daughter by her side. Beloved wife of the late Charles Kmen. Loving mother of Ginger Kmen, Kari Kmen, and Kati (Kevin) Kozlowski. Dearest grandmother of Austin Koch and (soon-to-come) Gavin Kozlowski. Cherished daughter of the late Ray and Norma Lemmons. Sister of Linda Jones and Nancy (Rick) Stvan. Loved sister-in-law of Gerry (Rosette) Kmen. Loving Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Karen's spirit could light up a room. She was always smiling despite her struggles in life. She battled multiple sclerosis head-on while being a wonderful wife, mother and friend. Life-long educator who's passion was, also, tutoring terminally ill students. Her passing has brought great sadness to those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed.

There will be a memorial service on the beach at the Lauderdale Shores Condo Association, in Elkhorn WI. (On Surfwood Drive) On Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to the M.S. society.
