Jean A. DeLisa departed this life peacefully on August 4, 2017 in Melbourne, FL at the age of 79. She was born on September 11, 1937 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to the late Walter and Emma Bodie Swist. Jean was one of two children.

She was a graduate Asbury Park High School where she met her future husband to be, Joseph P. De Lisa. Shortly after graduating, she began working for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company.

On November 13, 1960 Jean married Joseph and together they raised three children.

She has been a resident of Melbourne, Florida since 1993 coming from Point Pleasant, New Jersey. She attended the Chapel of the Holy Family in Melbourne and worked as a medical assistant for 13 years leading up to her retirement.

Jean truly appreciated the gift of life and enjoyed spending much of it with her family.

Memories will be cherished by her beloved husband, Joseph; children, Douglas J. (Rose), Dino J. (Leslie) and Dana J. (Kim) DeLisa; brother, Stanley (B.J.) Swist; her uncle, Bud McLean; grandchildren, Dina J., Carly J., Aaron J., Dean J., Channelle R., Kaylee and one adoring great grand baby.

A Memorial Mass will be held at the Chapel of the Holy Family, 3385 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, FL at a later date. Inurnment will take place at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jean to: St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
