Mary K. Culpepper was born Mary Lowe Kallal on Feb 26, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois to Mary and Ed Kallal, and has 2 siblings, Ed and Cookie.

She grew up in LaGrange, IL and graduated from Lyons Township High School. Venturing out, she went to college at Oklahoma State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree.

She married Michael Collier, USMC, and had 2 girls, Mary Jordan Collier, known as Jordan, and Marcy Lowe Collier. They were based in several areas and ended up in Longwood FL after the Marine Corps. Later she married William Culpepper and they had Amy Marissa Culpepper. Marcy Collier married Chris Youngblood and had 2 children, Sean and Jackie Youngblood. Amy married Shannon Kelly, and they have 1 child, Liam Kelly.

Mary is predeceased by Mary and Ed Kallal, Marcy Youngblood, Michael Collier and William Culpepper.

Family was very important to Mary, and she was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed taking her kids and grandkids on educational outings and to visit family. Sewing was a passion, and in later years she enjoyed quilting and made quilts for friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 335 E SR 434, Longwood, FL 32750. Following the service, light refreshments will be served at Mary’s home at 1391 Windy Ridge Ct, Longwood.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to AMVETS, a favorite charity of Mary’s.
