Kunisch Walter William Kunisch, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep September 10, 2017 at his home in Orlando, Florida. He was born June 14, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan. Walt was a WWII veteran who survived D-Day, received both a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his efforts in the war. Sometime after the war he moved his family to Florida and began work at Martin-Marietta, developing systems used for the space program. He loved Michigan Football and played golf as often as he could. He will forever be remembered as our “Papa Walt”. He is survived by his two sons, Larry Kunisch and Walter J. (Carole) Kunisch; two grandchildren, Rachel (Jonathan) Fralix and Jason (Tina) Kunisch; six great-grandchildren; niece, Cathy Chambers; nephew, Andrew Chambers; and a very dear friend, Kathleen Hicks.
