William Joseph "Bill" Young, passed away Wednesday November 15, 2017 at his home in Orlando surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 3, 1927 in Hartford, CT to John and Lucy Young, he was the last of 10 brothers and 3 sisters. Bill served in the Merchant Marines and later in Korea in the Army Corps of Engineers. As Sgt. 1st Class, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement. Bill worked as a salesman, mostly in the tire industry, loved the beach, boating and spending time with family and friends. He married Doris Mailhot on February 16, 1952 and is survived by his wife of 65 years, son, Steven Young (Ann), grandsons, William and Steven Young, son, Scott Young (Gwen) of Ocala, FL, and daughter, Shelley Young of Oviedo, FL.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10am.
Arrangements are by the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (East Orlando Chapel).
