In Memory Of
Gloria L Latoski
1940 - 2017
Gloria was married for 52 years to Edward C. Latoski, the true love of her life. She is survived by her husband; three sons: Paul Burgess of Louisville, KY; Scott Latoski (Carol) of Longwood, FL; and Todd Latoski of Deltona, FL; granddaughter Paula Smith of Louisville, KY, and great-grandson Parker Smith, also of Louisville, KY.
Gloria worked as a legal assistant for more than forty years, and she retired earlier this year after 31 years of employment with attorney Jeffrey A. Icardi. Gloria loved to read and enjoyed eating out with her friends, trying all the various restaurants, both near and far. She had an affinity for poetry, and she wrote many a poem in honor of her family and friends.
Gloria was also an avid pet lover - she had numerous cats and dogs throughout the years, all of whom became more than just members of the family. She leaves behind two cats (Minx and Furball) and one dog (Scruffy).
When Peace Seems Threatened
By Gloria L. Latoski
At a time when the world seems sad and lost,
When the price to survive seems too high a cost;
A world wrapped up in selfish concern,
Each man’s trouble, the others spurn.
Where’s the faith and hope we desperately need?
Swallowed up by hopeless, worldly greed?
Lest we forget and be solely consumed
To a hellish existence, we’ll be sorely consumed.
Reach out to each other before it’s too late;
We have the power to change our fate.
But whence comes the power, the answer lies
Without His help, our future dies.
When peace seems threatened more every day,
Our biggest weapon is to stop and to pray.
***Because of her love for cats and dogs, the family offers that in lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation in the name of Gloria L. Latoski to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando - https://petallianceorlando.org/ways-give/memorials-tributes/
