Georgia Kennedy was born in Sulphur Springs, Florida on August 22, 1928, the daughter of Wesley Miriam Long and Mary Josephine Land. She passed away December 12, 2017 in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Primarily, she was a homemaker but also worked professionally as a booker/accountant in the Trust Department of Sun Bank of Orlando.
She is survived by her daughter Linda (Richard) Mays of Chuluota, Florida, son William “Bill” E. Kennedy, Jr. (Delores) of Lake Mary, Florida, granddaughter Amy (Drew) Thomas, of Maitland, Florida and great granddaughter Kelsey Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl and sister Jackie Poulsen.
Georgia had a ministry of friendship and service in her small Orlando neighborhood and to her friends in her sewing guild. She especially loved quilting. She was a member of the Delaney Street Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. In her later years, she was a prayer supporter of the friends and family of the First Baptist Church of Chuluota.
