Virginia Rivera - Alvarado, 89, of Sanford, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018.
She was born in Aibonito, PR. She worked at an orphanage for many years to help her growing family then moved to Brooklyn NY in 1968. There she started her own business with the best Puerto Rican food in town. Years later she returned to her previous home PR.
In 1995 she moved to Sanford, FL where she retired and dedicated her time to family and her faith. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, and reading.
Virginia is survived by her Daughters Lucy Xikis and Brenda Torres, her sons Carlos and Jorge Garcia and their spouses. 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
