Salvatore DeFrancesco, age 98, of Oviedo, Florida passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.

Salvatore was born on August 22, 1919, son of the late Dominick and Nicolina DeFrancesco in Brooklyn, NY. He worked for Taystee Bread as a salesman for 40 years before his retirement. Salvatore was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the WWII conflict. He fought in the Battle of Bulge, was a POW in Germany, and was a recipient of the American Theatre Ribbon. Salvatore was married to his wife, the late Rose DeFrancesco, for 60 years prior to her death.

Salvatore is survived by his daughter, Lena Anderson; and two sons, Angelo DeFrancesco and Michael and his wife Julie DeFrancesco; six grandchildren, Chad Russell, Nathan Murch, Nicole DeFrancesco, Christopher DeFrancesco, Robert Bores, and Diana Bores; and six great-grandchildren, Shelby Russell, Cade Russell, Kemani Riffe, Blake DeFrancesco, Natalie Murch, and Jonathan Murch.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Domenick and Nicolina DeFrancesco; wife, Rose DeFrancesco; two brothers, Carmine and Jimmy DeFrancesco; and a sister, Theresa Patella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Orlando, FL.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando.

Interment with military honors will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
