We only have to close our eyes
To watch it all again
More precious than the greatest wealth
The time we spent with friends
Those that love us deeply
Are those that love us still
Together we rode out the storms
As families always will
Such joys and wondrous things to share
A newborn baby's touch
Drifting through a sunny day
When a river was enough
To carry all our burdens
Remind us of our past
Not thinking that those days we had
Were never meant to last
The young grew up and we grew wise
To the bitterness of loss
To live and love so deeply
Doesn't come without a cost
The made us who we are today
We will see them all again
That doesn't stop the tears we cry
Or make the sadness end
Instead we carry pieces
Of a thousand broken hearts
Sewn together by God's promise
He will finish what we start
The journey isn't always fun
But each day is worth the ride
A present from our Father
That we don't know what's inside
Sometimes a name defines someone
Sometimes it's just a name
When you were brought into this Earth
A Joy is what became
You gave and blessed those all around
To some you bared your soul
When God set forth to shine His light
Through you He met His goal
