Joseph P Wallace, 87, passed away on May 22, 2018. Mr Wallace was born in Jackson, Tennessee on June 11, 1930. He was the youngest son of Cleve and Rue Love Wallace who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nan Wallace, daughter, Rachel King (Mark), Apopka; son, Joseph Jr. (Kyle), Jacksonville; and daughter, Elizabeth Finch, London, England. They have 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Joe served in the Air Force for 3+ years, serving in Korea and Japan.

Joe and his family moved to Orlando, Fl from Jackson, TN in 1959. He was employed by the Orange County School System for 33 year in the Administrative Department. His different positions there were that of Director of Finance and Comptroller for the Orange County Public Schools. He was a Board Director for the Central Florida Educator’s Federal credit Union for 30 years, served as president on several occasions. Mr Wallace received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Rollins College.

Growing up in West Tennessee, Mr Wallace enjoyed playing football in High School as well as baseball. He was a Little League Coach for many years. After high school he played semi-professional baseball, but his first love of sports was golf. For several years he played golf every Tuesday morning with the same foursome. He spent many years as part of the “Romeo” club. (Retired Old Men Eating Out)

While he was currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Orlando, one of his proudest accomplishments was being CO-Chair for the building of Church in the Son. The Church in the Son family was very special to Joe and he enjoyed the friends and fellowship of Christ.
He was a wonderful and much loved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest the following charities which Joe supported. Danita's children Hope for Haiti https://danitaschildren.org/donate/ and Alzheimer's. https://m.alz.org/donate.asp
