Jeffrey Jay Kiehlbauch, 63, of Titusville, Florida, passed away peacefully and celebrated his freedom from disease at the Hospice of St. Francis Care Center in Titusville, FL on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 with loving family and friends nearby. His sudden illness and death were unexpected.
Born in Racine, Wisconsin on September 25,1954, he was the son of John and Dorothy Kiehlbauch. Jeff graduated from William Horlick High School, Racine, Wisconsin ~ Class of 1972 and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside ~ Class of 1976. He was enthusiastically active in the drama departments of both high school and college, playing the lead role in many theatrical productions along the way.
Jeff loved the stories and history of everything surrounding the Hollywood movie industry, and in 1977 he decided to move west to Los Angeles, California in pursuit of his passion. He propelled himself into an exciting and rewarding career, eventually gravitating towards motion picture production coordination. His freelance career brought him great satisfaction and respect, gave him the opportunity to meet many wonderful and exciting people, and allowed him to visit beautiful and exotic parts of the world.
In 2003 Jeff relocated to Titusville, Florida, where he could enjoy a relaxed environment, easy access to the ocean, and time with his aging parents. Jeff worked in the retail industry in Titusville until his health began to deteriorate in 2016, but was still able to “work the polls” where he enjoyed the coordination and people interaction. Participating in Titusville's local festivals, embracing the many parks and nature reserves in the area, assisting his parents, spending time laughing with friends, and caring for his dogs and birds gave him a full life until the end.
Jeff was a loving, kind, generous, talented, free-spirited soul that often found the cruelty of life hard to accept. He always was, and continued to be a master storyteller. His charisma and larger-than-life personality energized and entertained many, and frustrated a few. His zest and enthusiasm for life, his big, wonderful laugh and enveloping hugs made him adored by many, and his friendships spanned the country as well as the decades.
Surviving him are his beloved father, John J. Kiehlbauch. Sr.; his brother, John J. Kiehlbauch, Jr. and his wife, Pamela (Corday) Kiehlbauch, of Los Angeles, California; his sister, Kay (Kiehlbauch) Nannet and her husband Tim Nannet of New Richmond, Indiana; his niece, Solange Kiehlbauch of Pismo Beach, California; his nephew, Quinton Nannet of Indianapolis, Indiana; his niece, Andie Nannet of New Richmond, Indiana; his aunt Joyce Gustafson Zawatzke of Minnesota, his dog Kringle, and many cousins and friends spread throughout the United States.
He was preceded in death just this past April, by his most loving and generous Mother, Dorothy Gustafson Kiehlbauch, many beloved aunts and uncles, his cousins Kathy Mohrbacher Charlton and Carol Kiehlbauch Chambers, and his dear dogs Shrek and Harpo.
Jeffrey Kiehlbauch left us with a wonderful legacy of beautiful memories, genuine-from the heart gifts and a vast volume of entertaining stories. His vivacious personality and the love he shared will forever remain in the many hearts and souls he touched.
He was loved by many and will be missed so very much. A casual celebration of his life was held at Sandpoint Park , Titusville, FL on Sunday, July 8th.
