Roger "Bill" Hornsby Fields of Orlando, age 88, was called to his home in Heaven on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was born in Randolph County, North Carolina to the late Carl and Allie Frazier Fields on September 29, 1926. He graduated from Providence High School. He moved to Orlando in 1947 and learned the roofing trade and formed his own roofing company from which he retired. He was married to Mildred Clewell Abel for 55 years before her death in 2003. Bill was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by a sister, Joan Fields Long of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews; two stepsons, John Abel and Glenn Abel and his wife Dottie, all of Florida; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters Elain Fields Julian of Chesapeake, VA, and Iris Fields Dunham; three brothers, Wallace, Stanley, and Carson Fields, all of North Carolina. The family wishes to thank Michelle and Mickey Hage for their compassionate love and care of "Mr. Bill" for many years. They truly expressed Jesus' commandment, "To love thy neighbor as thy self."

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015, beginning 11:00 AM, at Highland Memory Garden, 3329 East Semoran Boulevard, Apopka, FL 32703.
