He was a member of Miller Place Volunteer Fire Department in Miller Place, NY.
Bernard was born on July 24, 1930, Brooklyn, New York to the late John and Catherine Dunn. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joan Dunn and his grandson, Matthew Dunn.
Bernard is survived by his children, James G. Dunn, Joanne (Don) Wagner, Patricia (John) Cappella, Thomas (Laurie) Dunn, Katherine (Mike) Caiaccia and Bernadette (Mark) Fitzpatrick. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Newcomer Cremation & Funeral Service (2400 South Washington Avenue, Titusville). His Mass will be held Thursday at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
