Jean was born on March 16, 1946 in Concord, NC, daughter of Sybil (Barker) and the late Coy Eugene Helms, Sr. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Jean is survived by her loving husband, Dick Smith, Sr.; her two sons, Richard B. Smith, Jr. and his wife Amy, and David Wayne Smith and his wife Kelli; her daughter, Melinda B. Smith and her husband Todd; six grandchildren, Cody Smith, Shane Smith, Savannah Smith, Gage Smith, Emma Smith, and Haley Smith; her brother, Coy Helms, Jr.; and her sister, Robin Helms.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, FL 32822, with Rev. Leslie McCranie officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 7 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
