On May 14th, 2018, Melanie Lynne Welch Reeves passed away at Florida Hospital in Orlando surrounded by her children.

Born in Daytona Beach, FL to Donald Ward Welch and Marjorie "Midge" Welch, she lived to be 74. Melanie is survived by her dear sisters, Donna "Jo" Welch, and Tanya Smith; dear brother, Gary Welch; sons Michael and Jeffrey Reeves; daughter Ashleigh Miller; nephews Brent and Shawn Price, and Robbie Smith; nieces, Carrie Ashby and Shannon Baine; and eight beautiful grandchildren, Taylor, Ashleigh, Ethan, Caitlen, Chloe, Allen, Michael, and Zachary. They all loved her dearly.

Her beloved parents Donald and Midge Welch, and her beloved siblings, Linda Scurlock and Donald "Butch" Welch preceded her in death.

Melanie dedicated her life to her faith, family, and community. Dwelling in the Daytona-Deltona area for most of her life, She was a nurse for Volusia County Schools, and a private practice nurse for 35+ years. Caring for people was just a part of who she was. In her retirement, she enjoyed her pets, fishing, gardening, and expanding her exotic orchid collection. Family and friends were a cornerstone of her strong and graceful personality.

Services will be held on Sunday, June 3rd from 12 noon to 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822.

A "Celebration of Life" will follow at The Miller residence.

Melanie's ocean blue eyes, genuine laughter, and loving heart will be missed by all.
