She was a lover of many dogs and cats who were her “other” children, her home reflected her love of all things Irish, and she was a big fan of all of Detroit’s professional sports teams.
Mary Jeanne is survived by her husband John Hussey; daughter Laura (Michael) Laughner, Colleen McKeague, John (Karen) Hussey, Kayte Snodgrass, Timothy (Julie) Hussey, Kevin (Mary) Hussey, and Eileen (James) Scherff. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Cristin, Patrick, Ian, Sarah, Meghan, Leeanne, and Kyle; great-granddaughters Victoria and Delaney; great grandsons Declan and Cole.
She was preceded in death by son Patrick Hussey and grandson Bryan Dougherty; father Edward B. Malchow and mother Sarah Malchow; sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Kewer and Kathleen (Jerri) Macdonell, and brother James E. Malchow.
A visitation for Mary Jeanne will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 335 East State Road 434, Longwood, Florida 32750, on Wednesday November 7, 2018 from 4 to 8pm. A celebration of Mary Jeanne’s life will be held at Nativity Catholic Church, 3255 N. Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Longwood, Florida, 32750 on Thursday November 8, 2018 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mary Jeanne’s memory to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph, 1820 Mt. Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207, or to your local Humane Society.
