Claudia Chitwood Weller, age 98, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. (Bill), and son, Randy.

Claudia was born in Cairo, Georgia, one of eight children. She moved to Miami, FL in 1944, where she became a Southern Bell and Telegraph Operator during World War II. Ultimately, she became a Chief Operations Clerk. She met her future husband, Bill, following the war and lived in Miami until 1949, moving to Orlando, Florida.

Claudia, known for her servant’s heart, was a member of Conway United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for children and adults. She was active in the United Methodist Women, and the New Horizons Class. She was also a past member of the Orlando Garden Club, JC Wives Club, a volunteer at Howard Junior High and a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was known as an avid gardener by her family and friends, blessing them with gifts of flowers and plants.

Claudia is survived by daughter, Pamela W. Schrimsher, son in law, Frank L. Schrimsher; grandson, Randol Schrimsher, his wife, Amber, and great-granddaughter Eliana; granddaughter, Jennifer Hartin and her husband, John; and great-granddaughters Erin, Mackenzie, and Aisling Hartin.

A private graveside service will be at Conway United Methodist Church Cemetery. A celebration of life and reception will follow at Conway United Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 12:00 noon.
