Ramon was born on September 29, 1957 in Rio Piedras, PR; son of the late Eduardo and Maria (Matos) Gutierrez. On November 11, 1978, he married Maritza Solares. He grew up in New York and worked for the New York Police Department. His first calling was the church. Ramon was very involved and dedicated to missionary work. He had strong Christian faith, and was a devoted family man.
Besides his loving wife of 40 years, Maritza, Ramon is survived by his son, Ramon Gutierrez, Jr. and his wife, Emily; his three daughters, Eunice Gutierrez, Valerie Reynolds and her husband, James, and Melissa Bassaragh and her husband, Andre; two grandchildren, Micah Gutierrez and Alex Romich; and nine brothers and sisters, Dora Santiago, Alba Millan, Rolando Gutierrez, Avelino Gutierrez, Pablo Gutierrez, Eduarda Gutierrez, Ramonita Machuca, Maria Rodriguez, and Maritza Veras.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elba Rodriguez; and a brother, Jaime Gutierrez.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 am at Faith Assembly of God, 9307 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Florida 32825 with Pastor Gerson Torres, officiating.
Visitation will precede the service on Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.
Interment will follow at Pineywood Cemetery, Winter Park, FL.
