She was born on February 6, 1926 in Comerio, PR, daughter of the late Arturo Fontanez and Rosa Maria Perez.
Margarita was a devout practicing Catholic. Her love for her family was as great and big as her faith in God. Her family was everything.
She loved to travel and explore Florida. For over 20 years, she volunteered at several Senior Centers. In 2017, she received from Channel 6 the “Getting Results” Award for her volunteer work at the Englewood Center. She also received a visit from Mayor Buddy Dyer, who presented her a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Margarita is survived by her son, Armando Rolon, Jr. and his wife, Joann, of Orlando; her daughter, Rosa M. Rolon of Orlando; two grandchildren, Michelle Romero and Kristie Figueroa and her husband, Josue; nine great-grandchildren, Angela Boswell, Esther Hernandez, Joann Hernandez, Yazmine Figueroa, Jose Hernandez, Jada Figueroa, Kaleb Figueroa, Christian Figueroa, and Isaiah Figueroa; two brothers, Angel Fontanez and Felix Baez; and three sisters, Luz Sanfeliz, Maria A. Fontanez, and Rosa M. Fontanez.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Armando Rolon; her brother, Tomas Fontanez; and her sister, Carmen A. Fontanez.
Visitation is Monday, September 9, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822.
Funeral Services will follow at 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 10:00 am at Greenwood Cemetery, 1603 Greenwood Street, Orlando, Florida 32801.
