Emilio was born on July 20, 1934 in Salinas, PR, son of the late Emilio and Georgina (Gonzalez) Melendez. Emilio was a veteran on the United States Army, honorably serving his country from 1954 - 1956. He was a longtime Senior Customer Representative for Avis Rent A Car, retiring in 2014 after 18 years of dedicated service.
Emilio is survived by his three children, Georgina Melendez-Superville and her husband, Terrance, of Ellicott City, MD, Cynthia Santiago of Orlando, and Luis E. Melendez and his husband, William, of Orlando; two grandchildren, Christina Marie Santiago and Laura Michelle Santiago; and one great-grandchild, Emilio A. Santiago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 52 years, Raquel D. Melendez.
Funeral Services are Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, Florida 32822.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home.
Inurnment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
