Andrea Dorothy Martin, a longtime resident of Orlando, passed away on January 3rd, 2020 at the age of 94 at her home in Orlando.

Andrea was born on March 20, 1925, the first daughter of two children to George Armstrong and Lillian Monica Armstrong, in Kingston, Jamaica. Andrea attended grade school in Jamaica. In 1948, she married her beloved husband of 61 years, Jorge Alejandro Martin of Port Limon, Costa Rica. The two made the Orlando area their permanent home in the late 1960’s.

Born to this union were their daughters Linda Susan, Dawn Elinor and Jeannette Elizabeth; all born in Richmond Hill, New York.

Andrea was a grandma to all, there was never a child that was a stranger. She also had a huge love for animals. Andrea loved art and drawing, getting dressed up, and dancing. She was our family's chauffeur for all her years, she drove us all everywhere, bless her heart! She was the meaning of unconditional love ?? There could not be a more kind beautiful soul.

She is survived by her sister Carol and her husband Ed Brown; her three daughters, Linda and her son -in-law, Jimmy Ochs, Dawn and her son-in-law Mike Hamlin; and Jeannette; grandchildren Sherri Jewer and husband Greg Jewer, Joy Merryman and her husband Brett, Jamie Allen and husband Eric Allen, and Shane Ochs; and her great-grandchildren Nicole Vaughn, Justin Allen, Amber Allen, Riley Merryman, and Chase Merryman.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jorge, and both her parents.

A viewing will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, on Friday January 10th between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

Funeral services will be take place at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 26 Willow Dr, Orlando 32807 on Saturday January 11, at 12:00 pm with the Rev. Dr. Edward Weiss officiating.

Following the service, there will be a procession to Greenwood Cemetery. The family welcomes everyone to come back to Linda and Jimmy Ochs home ( Grandma Andreas ), directly after the burial. Please contact the family directly for more information.

In lieu of flowers, contributions towards Andrea's celebration in the form of monetary considerations or food, would be greatly appreciated.
