Carmen attended Rainbow City School in her youth. She was top of her class and ran Track & Field. She met and married Claude Cadogan Sr in 1951. The union bore 9 children.
She was a house wife who worked part-time for the U.S. Military Commissary. Carmen migrated to the U.S. in 1983 where she gained employment with Baruch College until her retirement in 1995. Carmen joined her daughter Celia in Orlando in 2007 where she remained until her departure Jan 7, 2020 at 5:27am.
