In Memory Of
Gordon Hanna
1988 - 2020

With deepest sorrow we announce that Gordon A. Hanna, age 31, our beloved son, brother, father and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Orlando.

Gordon was born on March 31, 1988 in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom to parents Iain and Diane Hanna. He attended Orlando schools and graduated from Timber Creek High School, class of 2006.

From a young age, Gordon was a natural sportsman. He was an extremely talented soccer player, and he was the team captain for two consecutive years on the Discovery Middle School soccer team. He was a particularly fearless and accomplished skateboarder. He also enjoyed snowboarding, swimming, surfing and skydiving. He always considered his crowning achievement was being a father to his wonderful son, Gavin.

At this time, we must be united and celebrate Gordon’s all too short life. Gordon would have wanted it that way. He was a caring man, and he was concerned about the environment, marine life and wildlife. Recently he was very upset about the recent wildfires in Australia and the poor animals that perished. He also talked about the earthquakes in Puerto Rico, and the rising temperatures that were causing rising sea levels and Polar Bears to lose their habitat.

Gordon is survived by his parents, John and Diane; his son, Gavin Hanna; two brothers, Cameron Hanna and Alexander Hanna, both of Orlando; his maternal grandfather, George Whyte of Scotland; and his paternal grandmother, Rita Hanna of Scotland. Gordon is also survived by his son's mother, Savannah Newell.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ethel Whyte, and paternal grandfather, Andrew Hanna.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando with Pastor Tom Hensley, officiating.

Visitation with the family will precede the service on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
