Colin D. Green
1937 - 2020

Colin D. Green, age 82, of Lake Mary, FL, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

Colin was born in 1937 in Nottingham, England. As a child, he developed a loved for music, often performing with his sister, Doreen, for local organizations.

From 1956 to 1958, he served in the Royal Air Force in Germany. When he joined, they asked him what his skills were. He said he was an accountant, so logically, they made him a telecommunications technician.

While in service, he met his bride to be, Jill. They were married on April 2, 1960.

Colin immigrated to the United States in 1967 as a telephone engineer with his wife and children, and brought with him his love for soccer. He was instrumental in bringing youth soccer to the US, eventually serving as secretary/treasurer of the United States Youth Soccer Association.

He also enjoyed boating, golf, woodworking, gardening, and especially cruising with his entire family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jill; his son, Mike and his wife, Lori; daughter, Sue and her husband, Chris; as well as four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

There will be a memorial service held for family and friends at a later date when it will be safe for all to do so.
