Marilyn Casey

March 27, 1927 – September 9, 2020

Marilyn Casey, 93, beloved mother, grandmother of 15, great-grandmother of 15, and great-great-grandmother of two, was gently taken by the Lord September 9, 2020. She is survived by her children, Carol Casey Mayer, Brian Casey, Cynthia Casey Olvey, Michael Casey, and Donna Casey Bradford.

Born March 27, 1927 in Manchester, N.H., the daughter of Harry Daniel Smith Sr. and Maude Geer Smith, she attended local schools and worked in the local shoe factory until her marriage to Wallace William Casey in 1947. Marilyn raised five children in the area never moving more than ten miles from the home of her birth. In 1970, she relocated from Manchester to Orlando, Florida. with three teenagers and a seven year old. Marilyn and her children lived in her parent’s winter home. Once settled, she worked for the first Goodings store in Maitland. Later, she also worked for an electronics company in Winter Park, and the Department of Transportation. She enjoyed walking, Hampton Beach, a good drama, several British TV series, Downton Abbey, a full moon, and the simple things in life.

Family brought Marilyn her greatest joy. She was a member of Northland, Church, Longwood. She was actively involved with Third Verse for many years quietly serving the church in a myriad of ways.

Public Services will be held September 26, 2020 at eleven at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL 32792. Family visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. In consideration of the current pandemic, the wearing of masks is requested.

In lieu of flowers, please make donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the American Cancer Society.
