On Sunday, October 11, 2020, Denise Colon, loving mother of two children, passed away at the age of 42. Denise was born October 17, 1977 in Manhattan, New York to Walter and Noemi (Perales) Colon. In 1993, Denise, her mother Noemi, and her sister Natalie Colon moved to Orlando, Florida where she continued her education and made the most of her life. She received her Associates Degree in General Education in 1997, and worked throughout various opportunities in hospitality and sales. On February 20, 1995, she had her firstborn daughter Naomi Ilene Castro and her son on August 27, 1999, Nicholas Elijah Castro.

Denise had a passion to help those that she cared for and compassion for everyone she came across throughout her life. She had a love for music and enjoyed anytime she had with her family and friends. She loved entertaining others and bringing life to the parties. Denise enjoyed going to the beach and to Disney. Her favorite ride was Space Mountain. She also had a passion for cooking everything and anything. She was most known for her amazing potato salad and deviled eggs. Though Denise suffered through so many hardships in life, despite all the struggles, she is an inspiration to all and a true warrior of God. Her life, her love and her hope is a set reminder of the scripture, " Blessed are those poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God".

Denise was preceded in death by her uncle, Tony Perales and her aunt, Judy Perales. She is survived by daughter Naomi Castro, her son, Nicholas Castro, her mother, Noemi Perales, her sister Natalie Colon, her two nieces Kimberly and Katie Diaz, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Denise's viewing will be on Sunday October 18, 2020 at 3pm to 6pm followed by a mass on Monday October 19, 2020, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 11 am. The funeral service will proceed to Chapel Hill Cemetery at 1 pm in Orlando, Florida.
