Richard was born on June 12, 1971 in Winter Park, FL, son of Richard L. Odell, Sr. and Yvonne (Stripling) Whitlow. On July 24, 2004, he married the former Lori Riddle. Richard followed in his father’s footsteps working in law enforcement before eventually moving on to a career in financial investigations for JP Morgan Chase Bank, to whom he was working with at the time of his passing. Richard was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He was a longtime member of the MFC (Military, Fire, and Cops Motorcycle Club). His passion was the Central Florida Chapter's charity - J.O.S.H. (Just Our Soldiers' Helpers). Richard was all about the brotherhood with his fellow riders. He was a devoted husband and doting family man, in particular to his grandchildren, who were his world.
Richard is survived by his loving wife and partner of 17 years, Lori Odell of Sanford; his parents, father Richard L. Odell, Sr., and mother, Yvonne Whitlow; his stepfather, James "Pop" Whitlow, who held a very special place in Richie's heart; two step-daughters, Casey Slocum and her fiancé, Michael Froehlich, of DeBary, and Micaela Slocum of Sanford; and four grandchildren, Austyn Slocum, Kyrie Lewis, Keely Froehlich, and Novah Felton-Boston.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Central Church, 3101 FL-46, Sanford, FL, with Pastor Gene Gregory officiating.
Visitation with the family will be at the church on Friday, December 4 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Sanford.
