Arthur Ray "Pete" Kirby, age 88, died peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Advent Health, Orlando.

Born in Parkersburg, WV. Preceded in death by parents, Amanda and Ray Kerby and brother, Junior Karl.

Survived by his brother, Robert Kirby of Mineral Wells, WV and sister, Reba Brett of Columbus, OH; and many nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews.

He served in the U.S.A.F. Korean War, honorably discharged and returned to West Virginia and in 1973 relocated to Florida.

He purchased his home that he watched being built during his service days. While residing in Florida the rest of his life, he was involved in the performing arts at local theaters, as set designer and backstage manager. In 1975 he was presented an Oscar by the City of Orlando for his backstage work. He received many awards and honors for his performing arts activities.

Was an accountant for Barnum & Bailey Circus, Sea World, and other entertainment industries. Retired from Jackson Hewitt after 26 years of service.

Per Arthur's request there will be no service. He will be cremated and his ashes will be interred at Florida National Cemetery.
