Michael Anthony Balliet was born on February 13, 1946 to Ralph and Beth Balliet at Georgetown Hospital. They lived in Washington, DC until 1951 when they moved to Orlando to be closer to his grandparents the Starks.

The family then moved to East Colonial where he met his two lifelong friends Dave Jennings and Carl Canada.

Mike then became a member of Park Lake Presbyterian church where he sang in the choir. He served two terms in the Army in Vietnam, then became a surveyor.

In 1975 he married Lillie Gail Leonard. They enjoyed marriage for 45 years together.

They changed their membership to Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Christmas, Florida where he served as an assistant song leader and assistant Sunday School superintendent. He also served as the assistant chaplain to Jim Cawthan at the Seminole County jail.

They had no children, but he claimed his nieces and nephews as his own children.
