Theodore Crane McDonald passed away, March 24th at Regents Park of Winter Park after an extended illness.

Before his retirement in 2010, Ted was a stockbroker at Securities Research in Winter Park for over 27 years.

Ted was born in 1936 in West Chester, Pennsylvania and grew up in Bufffalo, New York. He was a graduate of Duke University and served in the U.S. Army.

While living in Virginia, he was a a federal bank examiner and then a social worker for Roanoke County which is where he first met his wife. In 1981, Ted and Cornelia moved back to her childhood home in Winter Park.

He was very talented musically and played the piano and various stringed instruments. He especially loved Blue Grass music and performed regularly with the Roanoke Blue Grass band called DREADFUL SNAKES.

Ted is survived by the wife of 49 years, Cornelia, along with their beloved kitty, Bailey in Winter Park.

Services and internment will be held at a later in the cemetery of Lebanon Lutheran Church in Lebanon Church, Virginia with his wife’s family and ancestors. The family had donated the land for the church; which was built in 1848 in Shenandoah County, Virginia.
