In Memory Of
James F. Ruddy, IV
1975 - 2021

On September 11, 2021, James Francis Ruddy IV passed away at home in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Known to family and close friends as “Jimmy” was born on October 6, 1975, in Scranton, PA. His family relocated to Florida in 1980 where he grew up and made a family.

Jimmy’s childhood involved participating in many sports such as basketball, football, and his favorite, baseball. His father spent many years coaching Jimmy and his little league baseball team in Altamonte Springs. Jimmy enjoyed playing the challenging catcher position!

In 1994, Jimmy graduated from Lyman High School and was accepted into the University of Central Florida. At UCF, he continued to be involved in campus life and was part of the UCF Rugby team. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance in 1999.

After college, Jimmy was heavily involved with the Jay Cees, where he served as the president of the Central Florida chapter. He was known as an avid reader and professional and collegiate sports enthusiast! To know him meant you talked sports and players. His favorite teams that he followed and watched the most were the NY Yankees and UCF Knights. If you rode in the car with him, there were 2 options: 1) sports talk radio 2) he loved his music – Rush, Grateful Dead, Van Halen, and RHCP to name a few.

In Jim’s professional career, he had over 20 years’ sales and consulting experience with HCM software. What he loved most about his job was travelling across the country to see the sights and meet with clients to showcase what his software had to offer. He really did enjoy sales and being part of the team that closed the deal!

Jimmy’s biggest pride and joy was his son, Declan James. From the moment he was born, Jim was in love with his boy. Jimmy spent hours building Legos, attended sporting events, fishing, camping with the cub scouts, and playing games. Jim always and consistently provided positive encouragement and unconditional love from his heart to his son.

Jimmy is survived in death by his beloved son Declan Ruddy and his former spouse Jennifer Stufflet Ruddy, his father and mother, James Ruddy III and Margaret Ruddy, his sister and brother-in-law Amy Bracey and Elton Bracey, his sister and brother-in-law Maggie Ruddy Patek and James Patek and their two children Jiraiya and Wren Patek.

All family and friends are asked to share his stories with those you love and continue his tremendously sarcastic humor alive in us all.

A Memorial Service will be held on October 24, 2021, at 1:00 pm in the Longwood Community Center located at 200 W. Warren Avenue Longwood, FL 32750.
