Candida Garcia, age 67, of Longwood, Florida passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at AdventHealth Hospital Altamonte.

Candida was born on December 10, 1953 in Bonao, Dominican Republic, daughter to the late Bonifacio and Teresa (Plasencia) Bourdier. On May 10, 1975, she married her devoted and loving husband, Jorge Garcia. She was a faithful communicant of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mt. Dora. Candida lived her life selflessly and for others. She was a woman who was a dedicated mother to her children, and a caring grandmother to her grandchildren. Candida was also strong in her Catholic faith.

Besides her husband of 46 years, Jorge L. Garcia, Candida is survived by her son, Salvador Garcia of Sanford, FL; and a daughter, Celines Sanchez and her husband, Fernando, of Longwood; six grandchildren, Destinie Rondon, Idaliz Garcia, Anthony Sepulveda, Jiovanni Garcia, Carmelo Garcia, and Valerie Sanchez; three brothers, Jose Bourdier and his wife, Amparo, of Orlando, Francisco Bourdier and his wife, Primitiva, of Brooklyn, NY, and Wilson Marte and his wife, Benny Maria of the Bronx, NY; and two sisters, Maria Perez of Brooklyn, NY, and Miguelina Rodriguez and her husband, Rene, of Brandon, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Cynthia Alston; and a brother, Candido Bourdier.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6803 Old Hwy 441, Mt. Dora, FL, with Fr. Gianni Agostinelli officiating.

Interment will follow in Sanford Evergreen Cemetery, Sanford, FL.
