Cynthia N. Jowers
1951 - 2021

Cynthia N. Jowers, age 70, of Longwood, Florida passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at her home in Longwood.

Cindy was born on June 3, 1951 in Nashville, TN, daughter of the late Carl John and Margaret Juanita (Hartman) Weil. Surrounded by a strong family, Cindy and her siblings, Carole, Eddie and Anita, learned early on the value of study, hard work and love. These pillars would serve her well throughout her life.

As a young woman, Cindy shined in school, excelled in her career and raised two young sons before meeting her late beloved husband, Richard Jowers. Cindy and Rick were soon happily married and enjoyed the larger part of their life together in Birmingham, AL, his hometown. There, she ran a successful business, became a fixture in her church and community, and made many lifelong friends.

A few years after Rick’s passing, and longing to be closer to her family, Cindy retired back home to Florida. She loved to golf with her brother, shop with her grandkids and travel with sisters and friends. She took many trips to the beach, spent time with her sons and doted on her new great-grand babies.

While Cindy could have understandably been proud of career accomplishments, she took more joy in other accolades. Dear friend, devoted Christian, dedicated daughter, selfless mother, loyal sister and loving wife were the awards that she coveted.

She lived a blessed life, though not one without its hardships. She persevered through challenges with resilience, grace, and faith. She always gave more than she took, and she will be deeply missed.

Cindy is survived by her two sons Robert Nelson and his wife, DeEtt, of Port St. Lucie, FL, and, Rodney Nelson and his wife, Lonna, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; six grandchildren, Melinda Pack, Brittany Nelson, Tara Rivera, Nathan Nelson, Dustin Nelson, and Dakota Nelson; three great-grandchildren Penelope Pack, Aurora Pack, and Elias Rivera; her brother, Carl E. Weil and his wife, Pamela, of Longwood; and her two sisters, Anita W. Harvey and her husband, William, of Deltona, and Carole W. Williams of Longwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Richard Jowers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of Longwood on October 28th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a small donation to www.loveladycenter.org.

A later celebration will be held at Hope Community Church of Birmingham, AL on November 12th at 10am.
