In Memory Of
Sandra (Sandy) Zeevalk
1954 - 2021

Sandy Zeevalk (nee Bukoski) went to be with her Lord and beloved husband after passing away peacefully at home due to a brief illness on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021. She was 66 years old. Sandy was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA on Nov. 24, 1954. Being a daughter of a sailor in active duty for the U.S. Navy, she, along with her parents and siblings, were stationed at several Naval housing bases during her childhood, including Newfoundland, Rhode Island, Hawaii and California. When her father completed his 20-year military service, her family settled in New Jersey. It was there that Sandy met the love of her life, Bill. They married on June 10, 1978 and would welcome 2 children into their lives shortly afterward: Becky in July 1980 and John in February 1982.

In the summer of 1989, Bill and Sandy moved their children to Orlando. As Bill was a Walt Disney World employee, Sandy and the kids loved spending time at the various Disney theme parks. She also enjoyed being a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church and taking part in many fellowship and social gatherings. Although she worked several odd jobs over the years to support her family, Publix Supermarket was her dream job. She enjoyed conversations with her coworkers and with the steady flow of customers. Wherever she was, she always had a smile to give. Anytime she would be out with family within a 25-mile radius from the store where she worked, it was as if we were kin to a local celebrity.... everybody seemed to know “the friendly Publix lady.”

Sandy found the greatest joy in her later years being Oma to her 2 granddaughters, Lexi and Khloe. Though not a person gifted with much worldly wisdom, she graced all she met with her emotional smarts and talents. She loved giving hugs and kisses and spreading natural kindness. She was a daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

Sandy is pre-deceased in death by her mother, Lois M. Bukoski (nee Dowsett) and her husband of 42 years, William H. Zeevalk. She is survived by her father, John E. Bukoski; sister Nancy J. Pizzichiello; brother John V. Bukoski; daughter Rebecca L. Bollin-Zeevalk and her spouse Tracy M. Bollin-Zeevalk;
son John W. Zeevalk and his spouse Katherine E. Zeevalk; and granddaughters Alexzia G. Zeevalk and Khloe E. Zeevalk.

A memorial service and reception will be held to remember Sandy’s life on Saturday Nov. 20, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Ventura Country Club clubhouse, located at 3201 Woodgate Blvd., Orlando, FL 32822.
