Mark S. Candela
1963 - 2022

Mark S. Candela, age 58, of Geneva, FL, entered heaven following a heart attack, on Tuesday May 3, 2022, in HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital, Sanford, FL. He was born on September 8, 1963, in Bridgeport, CT to Michele (Michael) and Elizabeth Candela.

Mark was a 1981 graduate of the electrical program offered through Bullard-Havens Technical High School. He and his beautiful wife, Janet, were married on May 26, 1990. They relocated to Florida in 1991. Mark worked for several electrical companies throughout his career as an electrician and service technician and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union.

Anyone that truly knew Mark, knew that he had a big heart. He would give you anything even if it wasn’t his to give. He could make you laugh even when you were mad at him. He loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that Mark is now at peace surrounded by light.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, enjoyed the country life in Geneva and caring for his chickens, goats and especially his dogs, Blu, Weezer and Memo. Most of all, Mark loved God. He spent time reading and discussing the Bible with his best friend, Harry Pempey, and shared his deep faith with all his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife Janet, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Rebeccah Noel Candela of Auburn, AL; his brother, Michael J. Candela, and his wife Lori, of Monroe, CT, and parents-in-law, Arcadio and Margarita Rivera of Orlando, FL. In addition, sisters- and brothers-in-law, all of Orlando, FL, survive him: Iris and Richard Munoz, Nereida and William Arbelo Sr., Evelyn and Jose Ramos, Margie Ortiz, Cesar Rivera (Shorty) and Arcadio (Juny) Rivera Jr. and his wife Elizabeth.

Mark was loved by nieces and nephews Kyra Candela Zellers and her husband, Jeremy Zellers, Nathaniel Candela, Kenny Ortiz Jr., and his girlfriend, Ismarely Justiniano, Ricky and Gilda Munoz, Ryan Munoz, Natasha Arbelo, William Arbelo Jr., Ricardo Rodriguez III, Danny and Monika Ortiz, Jovani and Kritzia Rivera, Diasani Rivera, Bianka Rivera and Andrea Rivera and her boyfriend, Anthony Rivera.

He was also cherished by his great nieces and nephews: Isabella, Isaiah, Angel, Gio, Sophia, Klaus, Ileana, Josiah, Elyjah, Aviana, Alex, Christopher, Alia and Julius and he shared a special friendship with Harry, Debbie, and Starla Pempey, Tracy Desalvo, and his cousin Robert Plude, Jr.
