1932 - 2022

Doyle Wallace Mangrum, age 90, of Saint Cloud, Florida passed away Sept. 15, 2022. He was born June 8, 1932 in Franklin, Tennessee; the eldest son of the late Doyle Silas and Eunice Lee (Daughtery) Mangrum.

Wallace served 25 years in the United States Air Force. He served at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Taiwan, Korea, Germany, South Carolina and Ohio — where he met JoAnn Bethel. In 1956, Wallace and JoAnn were married and together, they raised two sons. After 25 years of service, Wallace retired from the USAF in 1979.

Following his retirement, Wallace worked as a commercial bus driver for Lynx in Central Florida for two decades and later split his time between Florida and his beloved Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his brothers William Carlton (1934-2011) and Nelson Frank (1939-2022) and his wife, JoAnn (Bethel) Mangrum, who passed away in 2020.

Wallace is survived by his sister, Evelyn Jones, and her husband, Shirley, of Fairview, Tenn; and his two sons, Doug (Lori) and Kirk (Lana) Mangrum of Central Florida.

He is also survived by two granddaughters, Meghan Mangrum of Dallas, Texas, and Lauren (Eric) Mangrum-Templeman of Orlando; step-grandchildren Dana (Brian) Hiatt, Erica Owens and Trentt (Brittney) Dahl, and 16 step-great-grandchildren all of Florida.
