In Loving Memory of Brian Walton Cole Sr

Brian Walton Cole Sr, a devoted husband, loving father, and a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2023, at the age of 76. Brian was born on March 31, 1947, in Presque Isle, Maine, to his parents, Frederick W. Cole and Beatrice Walton Cole.

Brian's journey through life was marked by dedication, service, and a deep love for his family and friends. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1966 and answered the call of duty when he joined the US Air Force in 1967. Over the course of his 20-year military career, Brian served in various locations around the world, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country.

In the midst of his service, Brian's life took a beautiful turn when he met the love of his life, Sandi Babbitt, on his first day in Orlando, FL while stationed at McCoy AFB. Their love story blossomed, leading to a joyful union in marriage on May 10, 1969, just prior to his deployment to Vietnam. Six years later, their family was made complete when they welcomed the birth of their twin sons, Brian and Scott while stationed in Fargo, N.D. Brian and Sandi celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

Upon his retirement from the Air Force in June 1987, Brian and his family returned to Orlando to make their home. He continued his professional journey at Waste Management, dedicating 17 years to his work. Brian had a special affinity for the outdoors and had a knack for fixing small engines, but his true passion was connecting with people. He cherished social gatherings and the time spent with his beloved family and friends.

Brian was an established member of Woodbury Presbyterian Church, where he found spiritual solace and a sense of community. In the midst of his journey, Brian faced the loss of both parents and his older brother, Frederick Cole Jr, which added to the depth of his life experiences.

Brian Walton Cole Sr is survived by his loving wife, Sandi (Babbitt) Cole, his sons Brian W. Cole Jr. of Merritt Island, FL, and Scott B. Cole of Sanford, FL. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Cole) Konan, and her husband Steve Konan of Buxton, ME, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

This Saturday, September 23, 2023, family and friends are invited to pay their respects and commemorate Brian's life at Woodbury Presbyterian Church, located at 1501 Woodbury Road, Orlando, FL 32828. Viewing and visitation will begin at 1:00PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 PM, lead by Pastor David Scott. A reception will be hosted at the Cole family home, located at 1001 Barbados Ave, Orlando, FL 32825, directly after the service until 6:00 PM.

Brian Walton Cole Sr will be remembered for his warm heart, his dedication to service, and his love for those who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enduring memories that will be cherished by all who were touched by his presence. May he rest in eternal peace.
