Albert Wayne Pickering, Sr.

Wayne Pickering, Sr. was born in Bristol, VA on December 2, 1937, and passed away in Orlando FL on August 8, 2026. After moving to Florida, he graduated from Boone High School, where he met his wife, Barbara. Upon graduating from high school, he joined the Army reserves and served as a MP and left with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After completing his military service, he owned his construction company where he originally specialized in terrazzo floors and eventually switched over to concrete and block work. Wayne was an avid sports fan and spent his weekends watching the Florida State Seminole, Washington Redskins and Orlando Magic. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Pickering. His daughter, Vanessa Quesinberry and her husband Rob Quesinberry.  His son, Wayne Pickering Jr and his wife Nicole Pickering, and two grandchildren, Liam and Logan Pickering. 

A  memorial service will be held on September 12, 2026 from 3pm-5pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions at 895 S. Goldenrod Rd in Orlando, Florida.
