Ana Julia López or better known as Gladys, was born on January 8, 1946 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico and peacefully passed away October 13, 2024 in Orlando, Florida at the age of 78. On August 14, 1964, at the age of 18, she married the young Mario López and together they had four children: Ariel, Eliezer, Elga and Carlos, better known as Harry, Cheo, Marilyn and Charlie. Today they have 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Gladys accepted the Lord at Santiago Iglesias in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico where she became an active member on June 8, 1973. In the summer of 1978, she and her husband moved with their four children to Orlando, FL. She was the first in her family to live outside of Puerto Rico. As time passed, the rest of the family followed in her footsteps and Gladys' home was where the family stayed as they settled.
Gladys was a wonderful wife who respected and loved her husband. There was never a shortage of birthday and anniversary cards to celebrate her loved ones. She dedicated herself to her family as a homemaker and her love was always strong and persistent. She was very loved by all who knew her.
Her favorite hobbies were macramé, arranging flowers and going to garage sales. She loved to cook and was known for her pickled yucca, which was never absent at family gatherings. Her favorite Psalm was 121. Her favorite songs were “Thinking of You Lord” and “Loving as Jesus Loved” by Deborah Velázquez. Gladys sang these songs often as she had a beautiful voice.
Gladys always had a praise on her lips regardless of her condition because the Lord was truly her shepherd and now she dwells in the arms of her Savior.
