Annabella Hernandez was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on September 4, 1946. Ana, as she was affectionately known by friends and family, immigrated to the United States with dreams of building a better life for herself and her family. Through determination and hard work, she created a loving home filled with opportunity, never forgetting her roots.
Above all, Ana was a devoted mother who was immensely proud of her son, Steven, and her daughter, Lucy. She worked tirelessly throughout her life to ensure they had the very best opportunities and a loving home, pouring her heart into their upbringing. Ana's boundless kindness and goodness live on in both of them, reflected in the compassionate and hardworking people they have become.
Ana remained deeply connected to her family in Guatemala, especially her father. In his elder years, she took extraordinary care of him, faithfully sending money to support him and traveling back whenever possible to spend precious time by his side until his passing.
Ana was an avid lover of animals, often opening her home to dogs and cats in need of love and affection. Caring for her animals brought her immense joy. She also dedicated many years of her life to serving as a volunteer at the Bithlo Community Center, where she touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion. She generously gave of her time and resources and always had a kind word of encouragement for those around her.
Ana went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tulio Zea and Luz Coronado.
She is survived by her son, Steven Hernandez; daughter, Lucy (Kevin) Hernandez-Simmonds; grandchildren, Leilani A. Simmonds, AiYana M. Simmonds, and Kaleb M. Simmonds; niece, Tammy Zea; and grandnieces, Samantha R. Rodriguez and Laura J. Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, with a memorial service beginning at 6:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Orlando Chapel
